		<description>Thanks for commenting, Joel.  It can certainly be frustrating to deal with unmotivated people.  Sometimes there are reasons that can be addressed and sometimes that is just the nature of the employee.  I guess the key is only investing enough time to figure out each situation and then act accordingly.  If there is a solution, you can address it but if there doesn&#039;t seem to be a reason, you either wait for them to move on or cut ties.  I know I am extremely motivated but I have had roles in the past where due to circumstances, I was unable to maintain my motivation.  Exploring why can be worth it, but there has to be a balance so too much effort isn&#039;t spent on a lost cause.  Thanks again for your feedback!</description>

When I was in franchise management, I could never understand why the employees under me didn&#039;t take their work as seriously as I did.

Now, there were always a few who were really motivated and really focused. But the ones that just kind of &quot;showed up,&quot; were very frustrating to deal with on a daily basis.

I didn&#039;t try to get them more motivated. It just wasn&#039;t there for them. Eventually, they do move on.
